The CMM Programmer is responsible for developing, validating, and optimizing coordinate measuring machine programs to support dimensional inspection of aerospace components. This role plays a key part in ensuring inspection accuracy, product conformity, and manufacturing quality performance.
Key Responsibilities:- Create, validate, and maintain CMM programs for complex aerospace parts and assemblies
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and inspection plans to ensure dimensional compliance
- Support first article, in-process, and final inspection activities
- Troubleshoot inspection issues and improve measurement efficiency, repeatability, and program robustness
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to resolve dimensional discrepancies and support corrective actions
- Experience programming coordinate measuring machines in a manufacturing environment; strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, inspection methods, and measurement principles
- Ability to work with tight tolerances and quality-critical components
- Experience supporting production and inspection operations in a precision manufacturing setting
- Aerospace manufacturing or MRO experience; familiarity with common CMM software platforms and metrology best practices; experience supporting high-mix or fast-turnaround inspection environments
- This role is generally expected to support on-site inspection and validation activities
