Position: Level II Liquid Penetrant (PT) Inspector

Join our team as a Level II Liquid Penetrant Inspector and play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of precision aluminum castings. You’ll support high-value projects serving the aerospace, defense, and medical industries while working in a quality-focused environment that values precision, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Perform fluorescent and visible dye penetrant inspections on aluminum castings according to approved procedures.
  • Set up and operate water-washable and post-emulsifiable penetrant inspection processes.
  • Interpret and evaluate indications in accordance with customer specifications and applicable standards.
  • Identify defects such as shrinkage, porosity, cracks, and other discontinuities.
  • Classify, document, and manage nonconformances, escalating issues to the MRB as needed.
  • Monitor penetrant systems and equipment to maintain process control and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
  • Train and support Level I personnel to promote consistent inspection practices.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to improve product quality and reduce defects.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Requirements
  • Current or previous Level II PT certification
    , or the training and experience needed to obtain certification promptly.
  • Hands-on experience performing fluorescent penetrant inspections, preferably on aluminum castings.
  • Knowledge of penetrant inspection processes, equipment setup, evaluation, and documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements.
  • Ability to meet required visual acuity standards.
  • Approximately 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience
    .
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong communication and attention to detail.
  • $25–$30 per hour
    , with potential for higher pay for qualified Level III candidates.
