Position Summary Semper Solaris is seeking an experienced and motivated Roofing Installation Supervisor to oversee residential roofing operations throughout California. Reporting to the Roofing Operations Manager, this role is responsible for supervising installation crews and subcontractors, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with advanced knowledge of California roofing systems and building codes who can effectively support roofing, solar, and window operations. This position requires travel throughout California, as business needs require to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise residential roofing installation crews and oversee roofing and window subcontractors across multiple job sites.
  • Consult with internal teams on roofing conditions and solar installation compatibility across various residential roof types.
  • Ensure all installations meet company quality standards, manufacturer specifications, California building codes, and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Plan and oversee daily production, scheduling, job readiness, and project completion to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Conduct job site inspections, final quality control, and resolve installation issues or punch-list items.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Project Management, Solar Operations, Warehouse, Customer Service, and Production teams to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Train, mentor, and develop installation crews while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, provide project updates and resolving concerns as needed.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including inspections, job photos, production reports, material usage, and change orders.
  • Ensure company vehicles, tools, and equipment are properly maintained and available for daily operations.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within California, as business needs require
  • And additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of residential roofing installation experience.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory or crew leadership experience.
  • Advanced working knowledge of California residential roofing systems, including asphalt shingle, tile, composite, low-slope, and other common roof types.
  • Advanced knowledge of California roofing codes, permitting requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Experience evaluating roofs and consulting on solar installations across multiple roofing systems.
  • Experience managing subcontractors in roofing and/or window installation projects.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA safety regulations and fall protection requirements.
  • Ability to read blueprints, construction plans, scopes of work, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and construction management software.
  • Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout California, including the Bay Area.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred to assist our Spanish-speaking subcontractors
