Maintenance Technician B
Transdev in El Cajon, CA is seeking an experienced B-Level Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

Position Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement:
$41.49 per hour
Starting pay $41.49 with progression based on CBA negotiation over a 3-year period.
Vacation : up to 20 days per year based on years of service
Paid Sick Leave: 48 hrs.peer year; medical, dental & vision after 90 calendar days of employment for full-time employees, life insurance, 401k retirement benefits, and company holidays.
Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot engine issues.
Perform moderate complexity repairs and replacements on engine components, ensuring optimal functionality.
Assist A-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize engine performance.
Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for engines.
Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge
Other duties as required.
3-4 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of all types of heavy-duty transit equipment preferred
ASE certifications preferred
Three H or T series ASE certifications preferred, of which two must include H2, T2, T4 or H4.
Additionally, optimally, will possess 609 and 608 air conditioning certificates.
Mechanic’s Tool Set
Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to manipulate, handle or feel; reach with hands or arms; and talk or hear.
Frequently required to sit.
Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl; and smell.
Occasionally required to lift up to 75 pounds.
Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold and in a damp environment with moderate noise.
May be exposed to water, fumes, and chemicals.
