responsibilities
under supervision, performs a wide range of technical duties to provide effective support for assigned technology functional areas. As a first‑level responder, troubleshoots and resolves system/application related support requests for maintenance and administration of computer hardware, software, and telecommunications systems to meet business needs.
- serve as a first level responder for hardware/software issues.
- receive and model trouble calls.
- troubleshoot basic problems such as connection or printer issues.
- install software.
- provide desktop support duties under close supervision.
- one (1) year of experience providing technical support of computer applications and equipment, or
- associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- possession of an approved information systems technology certificate or completion of an approved information systems training course may substitute for all or part of the above required education.
- valid california driver’s license.
- may be required to drive own vehicle and provide proof of liability insurance as per vehicle code vc § 160020. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case‑by‑case basis.
- this position may require pre‑employment drug test, physical examination, and fingerprinting for a background investigation.
