R Driver – Class B (Open)
Location:
El Centro, CA – Retail shop
Compensation: $30.00/hr
Schedule:
Monday–Friday 7 a.m.–4 p.m.
- Operate a commercial motor vehicle safely and efficiently to deliver atmospheric, flammable, industrial gases and hard‑good products to customers.
- Adhere to company policies, including safety, the use of personal protective equipment, and identify safety and/or health hazards.
- Maintain a safe driving record and appropriate driver’s license classification while operating company vehicles.
- Load and unload service trucks with gas cylinders, containers, and supplies for scheduled route deliveries directed by the dispatcher.
- Make timely deliveries to ensure customer satisfaction and verify that all required documents are available and accurate.
- Perform any non‑route deliveries and maintain accurate records as required by the company and DOT regulations.
- Inspect vehicles for defects before each delivery (pre‑trip) and submit documentation of defects or problems.
- Perform post‑trip delivery at the end of each shift and notify management of potential cylinder problems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High‑school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Valid Class A/B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements.
- Minimum one (1) year of Class B experience operating a commercial vehicle.
- Clean and safe driving record with no at‑fault accidents or serious moving violations within the past three (3) years.
- Experience operating a forklift is preferred.
- Working knowledge of all Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and regulations for commercial drivers.
- Excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read a map and follow directions to navigate delivery routes.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.
- Physical qualification standards imposed by regulation for drivers.
- Commitment to safety, ethical conduct, and readiness for DOT pre‑employment and random drug testing.
- Work in a drug‑free workplace.
