Regional Business Office Consultant South Arkansas Region | Skilled Nursing Facilities Position Summary
Nightingale is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Regional Business Office Consultant to provide operational support, oversight, training, and guidance to Business Office Managers and facility leadership teams across multiple Skilled Nursing Facilities within the South Arkansas region. As a key member of our regional team, you will work closely with facility Administrators, Regional Directors, and Corporate Revenue Cycle leadership to ensure accurate billing, collection, accounts receivable management, census reconciliation, Medicaid and Medicare compliance, and overall business office performance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Provide regional oversight and support to Business Office Managers and facility leadership teams.
- Monitor and improve accounts receivable performance, cash collections, and aging metrics.
- Review billing processes to ensure timely and accurate claims submission.
- Assist facilities in resolving billing issues, denials, underpayments, and collections concerns.
- Conduct routine audits of resident trust accounts, admissions paperwork, payer setups, and revenue cycle processes.
- Support month-end and year-end financial processes related to business office operations.
- Ensure accurate Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and Private Pay billing practices.
- Analyze accounts receivable trends and implement corrective action plans.
- Collaborate with corporate billing teams to improve reimbursement and collection outcomes.
- Monitor payer changes and reimbursement updates impacting facility operations.
- Assist with patient liability calculations and Medicaid eligibility processes.
- Train, mentor, and develop Business Office Managers and business office staff.
- Provide onboarding and education for newly hired business office personnel.
- Implement best practices and standardize processes across multiple facilities.
- Participate in leadership meetings and provide recommendations for operational improvements.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations.
- Conduct business office assessments and operational reviews.
- Maintain records and documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist facilities during surveys, audits, and external reviews.
- Partner closely with Regional Operations, Facility Administrators, Clinical Reimbursement teams, and Admissions departments.
- Support facility census growth initiatives by ensuring accurate financial admission processes.
- Collaborate with Admissions and Social Services teams regarding payer verification and financial counseling.
- Minimum of 3 years of skilled nursing facility (SNF) business office experience.
- Previous experience as a Business Office Manager in a Skilled Nursing Facility.
- Strong knowledge of:
Medicare Part A and Part B, Medicaid eligibility and billing, Managed Care reimbursement, Private Pay collections, Accounts Receivable management, Long-Term Care billing systems. - Ability to travel throughout South Arkansas and support multiple facilities.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Multi-facility or regional business office experience.
- Experience with long-term care billing software.
- Ability to travel regularly between assigned facilities.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and work in an office environment for extended periods.
