Safety Engineer
LSB Industries is looking to hire a Process Safety Engineer to join our team. Their primary role is to lead the El Dorado, AR facility’s Process Safety Management program. This individual will be responsible for implementing necessary compliance program and procedures, identifying hazards or risks, analyzing and reporting findings on various EH&S consequences. They will collaborate with others to institute control and remedial measures for hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions, equipment, or situations.
In addition, assists business units with EH&S permitting and compliance and represents the Company to external organizations.
- Drive the implementation of PSM and RPM programs and procedures.
- Facilitates Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) on existing and future processes and reports findings on consequences of equipment, tools, and procedures.
- Provide oversite for the site Management of Change (MOC) process.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for incidents related to near misses.
- Assists in developing and distributing educational materials, participation in required audits of PSM and RMP programs activities applicable at company facilities, and recommends corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance with established regulations.
- May represent the Company on internal business affairs to external organizations or associations.
- Identifies, assesses and presents possible solutions to problems concerning PSM & RMP issues.
- May assist in the development, implementation and coordination of process safety training programs.
- Assist in the investigation of accidents or injuries for the determination of cause.
- Participates in conducting internal audits.
- Assists with permitting and reporting.
- Assists with proposed regulation review and standard development.
- Manages the company Learning Management System (LMS) for training, MOC, and incident reporting.
- Assist with setting up PHA’s/LOPA’s, reviewing/revising Procedures, and ensuring Operations personnel are up to date on their training.
