Summary
LSB is seeking a highly qualified Capital Project Engineer to join our team at our El Dorado, AR facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all phases of capital projects, from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. The Capital Project Engineer will be responsible for developing project scopes, timelines, and budgets, coordinating with vendors and contractors, and managing project resources.
Responsibilities- Develop and manage project scopes, timelines, and budgets in accordance with company goals and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards throughout all phases of the project.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure timely completion of project milestones and deliverables.
- Manage project resources, including staff, equipment, and materials.
- Track and report project progress, identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Communicate project status and updates to stakeholders, including senior management, project sponsors, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, risk assessments, and other project-related documentation.
- Mentor and train junior project managers and team members.
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in capital project management within a chemical manufacturing facility.
- Certification in project management (PMP or equivalent) is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety and environmental compliance regulations.
- Proven experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software, Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and JDE.
- Most of the incumbent’s time will be performing complex engineering assignments, planning, organizing, and providing technical engineering support to the plant.
- A significant amount of time will be spent in the plants, e.g. Ascending/descending stairs, ladders, scaffolding etc.
- Being subject to noise
- Being subject to hazards, e.g. proximity to moving/rotating mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or to chemicals
- Being subject to atmospheric conditions affecting the respiratory system or the skin, e.g. fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
The successful candidate will have a track record of delivering projects on-time, on-budget, and in accordance with safety and environmental compliance regulations. The Project Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure successful project outcomes.

This position deals with hazardous materials and/or industrial processes that can pose a risk to employees and the general public. This facility is required to comply with security standards under Department of Homeland Security (DHS) CFATS regulation 6 CFR Part 27.
