RN Specialty Labor and Delivery

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and administer nursing care within the scope of registered nurse training and expertise.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
• Provide nursing care to women and their infants before, during, and after birth.
• Assist physicians with all aspects of pregnancy and birth, including cesarean sections.
• Care for women who experience complications with their pregnancies or birth processes.
• Assess patients and develop care plans that address physical, psychological, educational/health‑literacy, sociocultural, and spiritual needs.
• Maintain meticulous attention to detail in all clinical duties.
• Follow hospital objectives, policies, and the Nurse Practice Act of the state of Arkansas.

• Registered nurse in good standing, licensed to practice in the state of Arkansas.
• New RN graduate from an accredited nursing program or licensed RN; BSN preferred.
• Ability to apply basic knowledge and skills to meet the standard of care and to function as a full partner of an interdisciplinary team.
• Healthcare CPR required; additional training in ACLS, PALS, and/or NALS provided as needed.
• Specialty units require and will provide specific specialty education.
• Demonstrated caring, compassionate, and knowledge base in pregnancy, labor, birth, post‑pregnancy care, complications, and treatments.

Authorized 72.00 hours bi‑weekly.
