Responsibilities
- Complete Lock, Tag & Shut procedures on machines to assure equipment is inoperable and safe to work on.
- Inspect, repair and/or replace items such as control valves, controllers, transmitters, motors, etc.
- Handle equipment rated below 600V.
- Understand power distribution systems and troubleshoot electronic instrumentation problems.
- Perform repair and maintenance of electrical and instrument equipment.
- Troubleshoot, remove from service and calibrate or change operating ranges of transmitters, analyzers, controllers, interlocks, transformers.
- Maintain and configure DCS controls and logic (some technicians).
- Use test instruments properly to avoid damage to equipment.
- Perform general maintenance activities, including equipment flange and bolt work, routine inspections, housekeeping, assist operations and learn the process.
- Two years of college (any technical major) or four years of industrial experience with E&I experience required.
- Successful completion of a pre‑employment aptitude test.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Internet, e‑mail).
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
- Ability to single‑lift 50 lb.
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (including respirator, hearing protection, fall protection harness, acid suit).
- Willing and able to work overtime as needed.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a self‑managed individual.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems and make decisions.
- Experience applying lean methodologies to maintenance processes and supporting the implementation of business systems.
