Chemours is seeking a Maintenance/HVAC Technician to join our growing team! This position will report directly to the Production Supervisor at our El Dorado, Arkansas location. We're looking for candidates who possess skills in HVAC, Instrument/Electrical and Mechanical maintenance.
This position is part of a high hazard operation, and the Maintenance/HVAC Technician could possibly work a rotating 12-hour shift, an 8-hour Monday-Friday day shift, or a 10-hour Monday-Thursday day shift; wear an acid suit and full-face respirator during summer and/or winter, ascend and descend multiple flights of stairs, operate a computer, and wear routine safety equipment daily.
The Maintenance/HVAC Technician should demonstrate teamwork, the ability to work safely, protect our work and community environment, respect all employees, and work with high ethical standards. The Maintenance/HVAC Technician applies working knowledge and experience to independently improve maintenance techniques and operations, and upgrade equipment.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems
- Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment within manufacturer's specification using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Engage in rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining a variety of machines and equipment.
- Maintaining (e.g., Preventative Maintenance), installing, repairing, and troubleshooting process equipment such as pumps and piping.
- Troubleshooting, adjusting, aligning and/or rebuilding rotating equipment to provide optimal reliability and energy efficiency performance.
- Collaborating with operators, I&E technicians, engineers, technical consultants, and vendors to resolve mechanical issues associated with plant operation reliability and adherence to standard operating conditions (SOC).
- Disassembly, cleaning and performing corrective and preventive maintenance of equipment including compressors, pumps and heat exchangers.
- Maintaining 480 VAC motor starters, VFD's and motors.
- Troubleshooting control circuits (24 VDC, and 120 VAC).
- Performing instrument calibrations.
- Repairing instrumentation, control valves, and maintaining analyzers
- Read and understand prints such as: P&'s (Process & Instrumentation Drawings), Loop sheets, electrical connection drawings, single line drawings, logic drawings, and ladder logic.
- Follow all prescribed safety and environmental practices to prevent injuries, prevent incidents, and ensure compliance with all environmental regulations.
- Other general maintenance work which will be assigned as needed.
The following is required for this role:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- The ability to work 8-10 hour shifts or 12 hour rotating shifts (including weekends and holidays) and overtime, under various conditions including some outside work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders, and work at elevated heights. Walk, stand, safely lift 50 pounds and wear various protective equipment, wear industrial safety equipment; hard hat, gloves (both leather and chemical), hearing protection, FR clothing, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, goggles, respirators, chemical suit.
- Industrial maintenance experience in either Millwright and Pipe fitting, Instrument and Electrical or HVAC meeting one of the following:
- Minimum 1 year of documented industrial maintenance experience in Mechanical, E&I or HVAC maintenance OR
- Minimum 1 year of documented industrial maintenance experience plus one of the following:
- Associate degree
- Public or military technical training school
- NCCER certification*
- Must be able to pass a motor vehicle check and physical.
