Role summary: The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration, is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role involves diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards. The Technician collaborates with management and team members to deliver efficient service, supports operational needs across multiple locations, and participates in on-call rotations.

Strong technical skills, adherence to protocols, and effective communication with customers and colleagues are essential to ensure system reliability and optimal facility performance.

About the team: The General Facilities Maintenance team ensures store facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained through routine preventive maintenance and timely repairs. This team applies expertise in equipment repair while adhering to OSHA standards to support operational excellence. Members collaborate to diagnose issues, perform repairs, and manage maintenance schedules, contributing to a reliable and efficient workplace. Focused on compliance and continuous improvement, the team plays a vital role in maintaining a safe environment that supports overall business objectives and enhances customer satisfaction.

What you'll do:

  • Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork and control panels, ensuring compliance with building codes and operational standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration units, walk-ins, and HVAC systems to optimize performance and reduce downtime.
  • Conduct inspections and maintain documentation in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, including refrigerant handling protocols.
  • Lead and mentor field teams, communicate technical information to customers, and coordinate service calls using digital tools.
  • Operate company vehicles safely to complete service assignments within assigned regions.

What you'll bring:

  • Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial or industrial settings.
  • Strong ability to interpret layout plans, schematics, and building codes to ensure accurate system configuration.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues and implementing preventive maintenance programs.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Effective communication skills to explain technical issues and collaborate with customers and team members.
  • Capability to lead and mentor field teams while managing service calls and workload using digital tools.
  • Valid driver’s license with safe operation of company vehicles and adherence to maintenance policies.
Minimum Qualifications ...
  • Option 1:
    Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
  • Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
  • Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
  • Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.
  • Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
  • Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
  • No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
  • No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3)…
