Title I Paraprofessional
Full-Time Position
Purpose:
Assist students in achieving the learning objectives and enhance the opportunity for success in the regular classroom for children that qualify for Title I help under the guidelines set forth in the current Title I application. Reports to Building Principal Salary:
Hourly, commensurate with background and experience Range: $13.94 - $18.84/hr.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Have a high school diploma or a GED certificate and
-Complete 48 hours at an institution of higher education OR
-Obtain an associate's (or higher) degree OR
-Pass a State approved assessment that assesses the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics (or reading, writing, mathematics readiness)
** Demonstrates aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities Demonstrates literacy in reading, writing, and following directions/instructions/ Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the district and federal guidelines may find appropriate Health and Inoculation Certificate on file

Physical Requirements:
Requires prolonged sitting or standing, and use of equipment including repetitive motions and computer eye fatigue Work Environment:
Ability to handle a fast-paced, intense work environment Must occasionally work in noisy and crowded environments, with numerous interruptions
Essential Functions:
Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning Works with individual students or small groups to preteach reading objectives Assists the teacher in devising special strategies Reads to students, listens to students read, and participates in oral communication Alerts the regular teacher to any problems Completes all forms and records required by Title I Attends and participates in staff and parent meetings Attends inservice training programs Performs playground supervision during lunchtime or breakfast Maintains high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality
