Job Duties
The Library is more than a place to work—it’s a place to grow! An average day at the library includes being the first to welcome visitors at the Library front desk, making drinks at the Library Latte, and using your creativity to help with the Library’s events for students. If you want to become part of a community that supports a love of learning and libraries – this may be the place for you.
Tasks You’ll Do at the Library:
- Welcoming students, staff, and faculty to the library
- Making coffee and boba drinks at the Library Latte
- Checking materials out and in
- Shelving books and other library materials
- Helping to plan or create social media posts for the Library Instagram and Facebook
- Designing flyers, bookmarks, and other library promo
- Help plan or run Library events and craft days
- Help keep the library and coffee bar tidy and clean
- Help students access our online resources
Hours for the Fall are between 8 am and 7 pm Monday – Thursday and 8 am and 5 pm on Fridays. Times can be flexible. We are hiring for all shifts, with some preference for morning and midday availability.

Qualifications Required knowledge and skillsSkills
- Can work independently and in group settings
- Good at openly communicating needs and confusions and willing to seek the help of a supervisor when confused or unsure of answers
- Willing to listen to directions and complete tasks
- Previous customer service and/or food service experience is preferred
- Ability to or interest in designing and creating flyers or digital products (presentations, podcasts, videos, social media posts, bookmarks, etc.) is preferred
- Have strong interpersonal skills, such as courtesy, conflict resolution, and self-awareness
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with and without direct supervision
- Able to reach, bend, stoop, lift, and push up to 30 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations

Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in at least one credit hour for the upcoming semester
- Federal work study eligibility is preferred, but not required
- High proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing in English
