Plant Operations Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY

The Plant Operations Assistant, under the direction of the Production Supervisor, is responsible for operating manufacturing/packaging equipment, which includes equipment set‑up, checking for quality of product, and meeting production schedules. This is a direct hire, not a temporary position.

• Operate conveyor, shrink-wrap, and bagging equipment
• Hanging and sealing bags of product
• Filling and sealing shaker bottles of product
• Bag product with the correct blend to the required weight level
• Place product on pallets according to specifications
• Assist with maintaining equipment, which includes cleaning out production equipment and lines
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Education / Certification

• High school diploma or equivalent

Skills / Abilities

• Basic math skills
• Demonstrated ability to operate various types of machinery and equipment
• Mechanical and technical skills with exceptional problem‑solving abilities
• Must be able to communicate effectively with co‑workers and supervisors
• Must be able to work independently and in a team environment

  Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Physical strength:
  The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

• Manufacturing environment: exposure to heat and cold, humid conditions and dust

  Ability to deal with a variety of variables under limited standardization
• Mathematics ability:
  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and common fractions
