Starting Wage: $26.32
Essential Functions- Fuse metal structural components together using submerged arc welding processes to fabricate steel electrical poles and related structures.
- Plan, layout, and execute welding operations using blueprints, drawings, and specifications, while applying knowledge of welding properties for various metals.
- Perform repetitive assembly tasks following established procedures, utilising hand tools and measuring devices.
- Move pole shafts with an overhead crane and gather parts to complete projects.
- Execute additional duties as assigned.
The Role
- Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment with minimal assistance.
- Perform mathematical calculations for product preparation and equipment setup.
- Maintain a safe and productive work environment, delivering quality product on time.
- Impact safety, quality, productivity, and delivery directly.
- Report to the Production Supervisor.
- Successful completion of an internal welding test.
- Knowledge of fixturing and welder set‑up parameters.
- Familiarity with welding properties of diverse metals.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
- Capability to set up work and determine operation sequence.
- Proficiency in using basic arithmetic and standard U.S. and metric measurements.
- Problem‑solving skills for practical issues.
- Teamwork ability within a diverse group.
- Attention to detail and adherence to instructions.
- Meet production, safety, and quality standards in a fast‑paced environment.
- Lift up to 50 pounds (frequently up to 20 pounds).
- Wear required personal protective equipment and follow safety regulations.
- Maintain a safe and productive workplace.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Graduation from an accredited trade school for welding.
- Three years or more of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.
- One or more years of professional welding experience.
- High awareness of safety at all times.
- Passion, integrity, and drive to deliver exceptional results.
