Night shift requires more than availability. It requires independent judgment, consistency, and the confidence to intervene when leadership resources are limited.
We are seeking an experienced Night shift Safety Manager to oversee chemical-cleaning activities inside a refinery facility in El Dorado, Kansas.
The selected professional must be able to maintain strong safety standards throughout the night, manage high-risk work without constant direction, and provide a thorough handoff to dayshift leadership.
This is a high-hour industrial assignment for a safety professional with genuine refinery, petrochemical, chemical-cleaning, turnaround, or comparable heavy-industrial experience.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN:- Full night shift safety oversight for chemical-cleaning operations
- Continuous field inspections, observations, and contractor monitoring
- Verification that permits and required controls remain valid throughout the shift
- Oversight of confined-space entry, LOTO, line breaking, hot work, and chemical hazards
- Participation in shift turnover, pre-task planning, and safety meetings
- Immediate intervention when unsafe conditions or behaviors are identified
- Verification of PPE, respiratory protection, barricading, and hazard communication
- Incident and near-miss investigations with corrective-action documentation
- Detailed nightly reports and clear dayshift turnover communication
- Coordination with field supervision, project leadership, and client representatives
- OSHA 30 certification
- Previous refinery, chemical-cleaning, petrochemical, turnaround, or heavy-industrial safety experience
- Strong understanding of permit-controlled and high-hazard work
- Experience with confined space, LOTO, line breaking, hot work, and process-safety environments
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts for the duration of the assignment
- Strong independent judgment, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to start September 11, 2026
You stay engaged when the site gets quiet. You make sound decisions without waiting for dayshift leadership, communicate clearly during turnover, and maintain the same safety expectations at 3:00 AM that the project maintains at 3:00 PM.
