NDT Inspector - Associate; Evening Shift

Shift and Compensation

2nd Shift (4:00 pm – 2:30 am; M – Th). Starting wage $27.93/hr + $1.50/hr shift differential.

• Evaluate the assembly of fabricated materials by dimensional checks and visual inspection of welds.
• Conduct nondestructive testing using ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and liquid penetrant processes under the guidance of a fully certified Level II Inspector.
• Coordinate the quality area to meet production goals and maintain workflow in collaboration with the production supervisor.
• Complete daily paperwork and documentation.
• Communicate within the work group to ensure teamwork and a productive work environment.
• Generate and maintain NDT reports and records for the company and contractors.
• Assess examination results and determine if material meets contract specifications.
• Make decisions regarding codes (including AWS D1.1) and specifications under the guidance of a NDT Inspector – Intermediate.
• Interpret NDT reports, evaluate quality acceptance, and reject material or stop work as necessary to minimize financial loss and customer dissatisfaction.
• Maintain essential tools and equipment and participate in department safety activities.
• Maintain timely and consistent attendance.

• High School diploma with 5+ years of work/educational experience

  * * Associate's Degree with 2+ years of experience
  ** or
  * * Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years of experience in a fabricated steel environment.
• Basic mathematics skills, including conversion of fractions to decimals.
• Proficiency with basic measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, fillet weld gauges, levels).
• Level I NDT certification or ability to obtain Level I certification within 90 days.
• Ability to operate NDT testing equipment.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with plant employees, supervisors, management, and customers.
• Prioritization and problem‑solving skills with minimal assistance from leadership.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• 4+ years of experience in a fabricated steel environment.
• Associate's Degree in NDT from an accredited school.
• SNT‑TC‑1A NDT LevelI in ultrasonic and magnetic particle testing.
• Competence in basic quality assurance disciplines, including dimensional inspection and gauging equipment.
• Passion, integrity, and a drive to deliver exceptional results.

Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to dust, dirt, heat, fumes, cold, and noise levels above 80decibels. Tasks involve lifting up to 50lbs (average 20lbs), reaching, standing, walking, using hands to handle tools, kneeling, crouching, talking, and hearing. Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
