Job Description
Summary: To assist in providing for the security and protection of all students, staff and property.
Reports To: Principal/Assistant Principal
FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Safety/Security
- Patrol assigned areas on foot or in a vehicle to ensure security of students, visitors, property and equipment.
- Maintain a safe and orderly flow of foot traffic in hallways, on campus and in parking areas; provide public assistance and information.
- Monitor adherence with safety, security and organizational rules; provide warnings, information and direction when violations occur; monitor students to ensure timely reporting to assigned classes.
- Monitor school grounds, parking areas, buildings and equipment and report irregularities, hazards or other safety/security issues; monitor site access to allow only authorized visitors.
- Communicate with faculty, administration and related functional areas to collaborate and advise on safety/security issues.
- Maintain cleanliness and order of facility spaces.
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
- Establish and maintain a good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
- Transport students to and from school and other activities using a school van.
- Supervise student conduct and maintain safety at all times.
- Report undisciplined students to proper authority and fill out required forms.
- Follow established directions for breakdowns and emergencies.
- Report all accidents to proper authority and complete related reports.
- Maintain accurate written records as required.
- Perform mandatory pre‑trip inspections.
- Maintain a clean district vehicle.
- Remain aware of unusual noises or conditions of vehicle and report such to fleet maintenance staff.
- Observe all mandatory driving safety regulations.
- Other job related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- First Aid and CPR card.
- Valid Arizona Class D License.
- Annual and random drug and alcohol testing.
- Acceptable driving record for the last three years.
- Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
- School safety practices and expectations.
- Standard practices, methods and materials of assigned work.
- Occupational hazards and applicable safety principles and practices.
- Basic mathematical, reading and writing concepts.
- Uses and properties of supplies and equipment.
- Customer service principles.
- Modern office technology.
- Following directions and meeting standards.

- Comprehending reference books and manuals.
- Operating assigned tools and equipment.

Positions in this class require stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Working Conditions: Work is routinely performed in an indoor office and outdoor environment including exposure to loud noise and being on your feet.
