General Summary
As a Credit Administrator, provide guidance and leadership to other Credit Administrators. Provide credit review and evaluation for assigned commercial borrowers in support of Bank's credit activities. Ensure credit compliance with Bank regulatory credit specifications.
Essential Functions- Work closely with Lending Teams including Team Managers and Portfolio Managers to review and evaluate proposed new and renewal extensions of credit for commercial borrowers, paying particular attention to the quality and analysis of the credit presented.
- Approve proposed extensions of credit within authorized loan limits.
- Develop alternative strategies to address unusually complex or difficult lending situations in collaboration with account officers.
- Prepare transaction summaries for extensions of credit requiring approval by the Bank's Board of Directors (Credit Committee).
- Follow up on past due loans for repayment and assist in managing problem loan situations.
- Update monthly watch list report for assigned portfolio and ensure accurate risk ratings.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to other Credit Administrators, sharing experience and knowledge.
- Provide guidance to new Credit Administrators to help them become acclimated to the Bank's culture and job function.
- Offer guidance on credit issues, proper structuring, early detection of problem loans to Business Lending Units, and Credit Analysis Department, enhancing lending staff knowledge of assessing credit risk.
- Provide support for documenting complex loan transactions and perform quality control reviews of loan files and documents.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior staff within various Lending Teams.
- College graduate with major in related fields.
- Minimum 7-10 or more years of CRE and commercial lending experience, with at least 5-7 years in a credit approval function with a commercial bank preferred.
- Experience in specialty lending such as oil and gas, subscription asset‑based lending, cash flow lending, trade finance and international banking is a plus.
- In‑depth knowledge of CRE and commercial lending, focusing on commercial construction and mortgage finance.
- Broad knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards applicable to commercial lending, CRE and residential mortgage products.
- Superior credit analysis skills.
- Ability to develop strategies to manage problem real‑estate and commercial loans.
- Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team‑oriented environment and on a collaborative basis.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high‑volume workflow.
- Desire to work in a dynamic and challenging environment with changing priorities and short‑term deadlines.
$145K - $250K / year. Pay determined based on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
