OverviewEast West Bank is seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to support and manage the Bank's enterprise database platforms. The DBA is responsible for ensuring the availability, security, performance, integrity, and recoverability of mission-critical database systems across on-premises and cloud environments. This role partners closely with application development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, architecture, and business teams to deliver secure, resilient, and highly available data platforms that support the Bank's operations and regulatory requirements.
ResponsibilitiesDatabase Administration & Operations
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments across development, test, disaster recovery, and production platforms.
- Manage database availability, performance, capacity planning, and overall platform health.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database, operating system, and application performance issues.
- Administer Always On Availability Groups, clustering, replication, and other high-availability technologies.
- Support database patching, upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management activities.
- Maintain database standards, configuration baselines, and operational procedures.
- Implement and enforce database security controls, authentication, authorization, encryption, and auditing requirements.
- Manage database access requests and privileged account administration.
- Ensure compliance with Bank policies, standards, regulatory requirements, and audit expectations.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, evidence, and technical expertise.
- Assist in vulnerability remediation and security hardening efforts.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain database backup and recovery strategies.
- Execute and validate database restore testing activities.
- Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and recovery operations.
- Ensure recovery objectives and data protection requirements are met.
- Administer Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance, and related cloud database technologies.
- Support cloud migration initiatives and modernization efforts.
- Collaborate with enterprise architecture teams on database platform strategy and governance.
- Participate in change management, release management, and production deployment activities.
- Develop and maintain automation solutions using T-SQL, Power Shell, and other tools to improve operational efficiency.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operating procedures.
- Work closely with developers, infrastructure engineers, cybersecurity teams, and business stakeholders.
