The Gill Corporation is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of honeycomb, high‑performance floor panels, cargo compartment liners and original equipment for passenger and freighter aircraft. The company also excels in many other types of reinforced plastics including interior sandwich panels for creating structures such as aircraft galleys and bulkheads, honeycomb core and related products.
The Gill Corporation is seeking a Quality Control Technician whose functions are to test and/or inspect products to ensure the quality and functionality of the manufactured goods. The technician will perform visual inspection using the Gill Process Documents (i.e.: GPS, GMS, GOS and GWI) to ensure quality specifications are met, also uses test equipment to evaluate the materials or products and records data from test procedures and inspections.
Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, they will perform but not be limited to the following responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Follow company policies.
- Comprehend and ensure compliance with Quality documents (Dwg; GOS, GPS, GMS, GTP, GWI, Shop Planners, Etc.).
- Perform NDT Inspection using NDT Reports and Quality Documents (GPS, GOS, etc.) as needed.
- Perform in Process inspection.
- Perform and prepare Internal Audits in preparation for AS9100.
- Perform product and system verifications using inspection plans, inspection tools and measuring instruments to validate conformance with TGC Standards and customer specifications.
- Identify, segregate and document nonconforming products for disposition.
- Prepare First Article Inspection reports (FAIRs) as needed.
- Test Product and/or Raw material to customer and/or TGC specs.
- Administer MRB activities (meetings, inventory, Reports and dispositions) as needed.
- File, Copy, Fax and Scanning.
- Other essential duties may be assigned.
- Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalency. Education beyond High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 2 years’ experience in Aerospace Quality Inspection.
- Computer knowledge on word processing and spreadsheets.
- Ability to comfortably multitask with minimal supervision.
- Must have English reading and verbal communication skills sufficient to read, understand and communicate the company operating procedures and policies.
- Must be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to demonstrate math proficiency equal to or greater than required for the position applied.
- Acceptable Vision Test results.
This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”).
