Essential Job Functions
  • Attend work on a regular schedule and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Process deposits: call in and entry to CAPPS financials from daily receipts and bank deposits.
  • Code, post, and balance financial accounting documents in the Client Trust Fund (CTF) system, review available funds, post receipts and disbursements, prepare deceased client documentation, maintain client records, and disburse client account balances.
  • Serve as Procurement Card Coordinator: reconcile account statements, provide procard usage reports, assign budget coding to purchases, and enter transactions into CAPPs Financials.
  • Perform accounting audits: daily audit of cashier receipts, monthly petty cash balances, quarterly audits of unused checks, and research and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Coordinate employee travel: book airline, hotel, and car rentals; process travel card payments; reconcile travel forms; send travel details to State office accounting.
  • Assist RBMO Accountant I with employee payroll processes and related queries.
  • Prepare payments, cash, journals, vouchers, and submit to State office accounting and RBMO Accountant IV for reconciliation.
  • Assist with invoice approval, track invoices, and ensure payments processed.
  • Provide training to new employees and support disaster response / continuity of operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures affecting maintenance of accounting records and automated systems.
  • Ability to apply accounting theory to transactions and internal control procedures.
  • Knowledge of accounts payable and reconciliation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with CAPPs Financials/HHSAS Peoplesoft preferred.
  • Skill in using a personal computer and preparing/maintaining records, files, and reports.
Education & Experience
  • Graduation from a standard or high school or equivalent.
  • Experience with a computerized recordkeeping system preferred.
Eligibility and Background Checks
  • Must be at least 18 years of age; special age requirements may apply for certain centers.
  • Pass fingerprint criminal background check, pre‑employment drug screen, and registry checks including CANRS, Nurse Aid, Medication Aide, Employee Misconduct, and LEIE.
  • Males aged 18‑25 must register with the Selective Service.
  • Compliance with HHSC immunization policy is required; vaccination against hepatitis B, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, and influenza is mandatory. Non‑vaccinated individuals may be required to wear a mask and take other protective measures.
