This position is responsible for improving regional student performance and requires effective collaboration with the ESC and school district personnel. The Accounting Clerk will assist the Finance Program Manager and Head Start Director in the planning, development, implementation, and coordination of budget and purchasing-related procedures. This person will serve as the primary contact for any Head Start budget or purchasing-related issues and will provide technical assistance to the corresponding service area, site, or vendor.

The Accounting Clerk will ensure that the purchasing and budgeting processes operate with maximum efficiency.

Additionally, this position is responsible for receiving and reconciling Non-Federal Share (NFS) forms from the centers and service areas with data in the Child Plus system, ensuring data accuracy. The Accounting Clerk will also provide on-site and telephone assistance to center managers and clerks to troubleshoot any challenges or concerns related to data entry and accuracy regarding the Non-Federal Share.

This position requires occasional prolonged or irregular hours.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish).
• Experience using computer software, including intermediate to advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in office and finance procedures.
• College coursework (preferred).
• Knowledge of Windows-based web database systems, such as TEAMS or Child Plus (preferred).
• Experience in coordinating or providing budget-related technical assistance (preferred).
• Ability to work independently.
• An equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience, as determined by the Executive Director.
