job summary

responsible for providing front-line admissions and registration services for all student populations including international students, into credit and non-credit programs, including generating, maintaining, and digitizing student records in compliance with the southern association of colleges and schools commission on colleges (sacscoc) standards, texas higher education coordinating board (thecb) guidelines, applicable state and federal laws, and district policies. Ensure ongoing compliance with federal regulations while serving as a designated school official (dso).

process admissions applications to verify eligibility and admission into el paso community college (epcc). Accurately code, maintain, and update applicant and student records, including registration holds. Digitize all original supporting documentation and guide students through required admissions steps for all region 19 designated schools and dual credit and early college high school programs (dc/echsp). Prioritize the admissions processing of international students for enrollment in credit and non-credit programs.

Review and evaluate required supporting documentation to process student actions and update the student information system (sis), including but not limited to grades, attendance, address changes, majors, and other demographic data impacting state and federal reporting. Update external systems, such as army ignited, the student and exchange visitor information system (sevis), and other third-party software used by the division. Maintain compliance with federal regulations as the dso, including issuing i-20s based on application documentation.

Provide registration assistance for credit and continuing education (ce) students, including schedule and class searches, release of registration holds, overrides, over-tallies, and assignment of appropriate registration codes within the sis. Serve as one of the lead designees for ce american village, and english for speakers of other languages (esol) program, and provide guidance and training to staff to remain abreast of program changes, updates, and compliance requirements.

Serve as an informational resource regarding epcc policies and procedures, and residency regulations status in accordance with texas law. Accept, process, and complete enrollment verifications, deferments, student loan companies, employment screening agencies, insurance companies, and the military. Gather required data and certify student enrollment. Provide students with information on admissions, registration, residency, texas success initiative (tsi), ability to benefit, english as a second language (esl) pre-testing, international student requirements, and general student services.

Process course withdrawals initiated by students, faculty, or administrative actions, ensuring accurate review, coding, and compliance with federal, state, and district regulations. Issue and maintain i-20s through the sevis and sis. Monitor registration activity and conduct compliance-related analytics. Utilize audit systems to determine and document eligibility for reduced course loads and other college, local, state, or federal guidelines. Maintain records using the image document management system to store and retrieve documentation.

Utilize third-party software used by the college, division, and admissions and registration office, including systems associated with virtual offices and call center operations. Serve as liaison to region 19 designated high schools and dc/echs programs by coordinating with epcc departments such as testing services, counseling, and financial aid to ensure comprehensive student services. Resolve semi-routine admissions issues and ensure compliance by explaining the dc/echsp admissions processes, program requirements, policies, procedures, and appropriate laws to students and external contacts.

Refer students to appropriate department as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.

required qualifications: 1. Associate's degree and three (3) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
