OverviewThe Superintendent I will oversee and coordinate construction activities on-site. The Superintendent I will be responsible for managing subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This position requires strong leadership abilities, construction management experience, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities- Project Coordination and Management: coordinate and manage all construction activities on-site, including scheduling, subcontractor coordination, material procurement, and equipment logistics.
- Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards, and implement corrective actions as needed to address deviations and issues.
- Subcontractor Management: supervise subcontractors and tradespeople, ensuring they adhere to project schedules, quality requirements, and safety protocols. Coordinate subcontractor activities, resolve conflicts, and provide guidance and direction to ensure efficient and productive workflow.
- Safety Compliance and
Risk Management:
implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel on-site. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, identify hazards and risks, and take corrective actions to mitigate potential accidents and injuries. - Quality Assurance and Control: monitor construction activities to ensure workmanship, materials, and installations meet project specifications and quality standards. Conduct inspections and quality checks at various stages of construction and address any deficiencies or non-conformances in a timely manner.
- Communication and Reporting: serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including project managers, clients, architects, and engineers. Provide regular progress updates, reports, and documentation to project management and stakeholders, and address any concerns or issues proactively.
- Team Leadership and Development: lead and supervise field personnel, including foremen, laborers, and subcontractors, to ensure they perform their duties effectively and efficiently. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promote teamwork and communication, and provide mentorship and coaching to support professional growth and development.
