We are seeking an experienced Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to oversee all safety-related activities on a federal construction project. This individual will be responsible for ensuring compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA regulations, contract requirements, and company safety policies while promoting a proactive safety culture across the project team.

• Serve as the designated SSHO for federal construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA regulations, and project-specific safety requirements.
• Conduct daily site safety inspections and document findings.
• Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training.
• Review, implement, and enforce Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain all required safety documentation, reports, and records.
• Coordinate with project management, subcontractors, and government representatives regarding safety matters.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance and enforce site safety standards.
• Promote a strong safety culture across all project personnel.

• 5+ years of experience serving as an SSHO on federal construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of USACE safety requirements and EM 385-1-1.
• Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
• Experience conducting site inspections, safety training, and incident investigations.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and safety requirements.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic safety documentation.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  
  Current First Aid/CPR certification. Experience supporting USACE, NAVFAC, DoD, or other federal construction projects. Additional safety certifications or professional safety credentials are a plus.
