Established Federal Construction Firm Seeks SSHO for a USACE project

The Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) will be responsible for implementing and administering the project s safety program in accordance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA regulations, and project-specific requirements. The SSHO will work closely with project management, field personnel, subcontractors, and government representatives to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.

• Implement and enforce project safety policies and procedures
• Maintain compliance with EM 385-1-1 and OSHA regulations
• Conduct daily site safety inspections and audits
• Lead safety meetings, orientations, and toolbox talks
• Prepare, review, and manage Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
• Assist with Accident Prevention Plan (APP) implementation
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and corrective actions
• Maintain project safety documentation and reporting
• Coordinate with subcontractors regarding safety compliance
• Serve as primary safety liaison with USACE representatives

• 5+ years of federal construction SSHO experience
• EM 385-1-1 40-Hour Certification
• OSHA 30 Certification
• Experience supporting USACE, DoD, NAVFAC, AFCEC, or other federal projects
• Experience managing AHAs, APPs, safety audits, and incident investigations
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work full-time on-site in El Paso, TX

• USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) Certification
• RMS/QCS experience
• Experience on civil, utility, pump station, water/wastewater, or heavy infrastructure projects
• Bilingual English/Spanish
