Job Summary

This position is responsible for on-site supervision of all phases of Jordan Foster Construction (JFC) commercial construction projects, including coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and material deliveries; ensuring compliance with project drawings and specifications; and managing the project budget and schedule.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities
  • Assist the project team in developing the construction schedule and provide weekly updates of the same.
  • Perform quality control duties and responsibilities in regard to the work being performed.
  • Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in accordance with the CMP schedule to ensure timely completion of the project.
  • Communicate with the project team regarding ASIs, RFIs, and submittals.
  • Review subcontractor contract agreements and scope of work and ensure subcontractor compliance.
  • Coordinate and schedule required inspections with local jurisdictions and the testing laboratory.
  • Coordinate tie-ins and installations with local utility companies.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure subcontractor compliance with all applicable OSHA and JFC safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
  • Maintain daily reports of construction activities on the job site.
  • Ensure subcontractor has corrected all deficiencies identified by the project team.
  • Perform daily reviews of the units/project to monitor activities and plan future activities.
  • Conduct weekly subcontractor meetings to coordinate the work using a two‑week look‑ahead.
  • Issue notices of non‑compliance to subcontractors in regard to quality of work or scheduling.
  • Ensure the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner and all debris is properly cleared.
  • Perform job progress and completion punch list identification and completion.
  • Manage on-site project team, including all assistant superintendents, carpenter foremen, and laborers.
  • Assist Project Manager with review and approval of all subcontractor and vendor pay requests.
  • Regularly review project budget and schedule with the Project Manager to ensure the project is on track.
  • Maintain a current as‑built set of construction documents for the project.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations as they relate to the construction project.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all on‑site compliance with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, and company policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read and interpret all design drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient with construction software (Procore, Plan Grid, Bluebeam, etc.).
  • Must be able to successfully interact with building officials, owners, subcontractors, vendors, and anyone else necessary for the successful operation of the construction process.
  • Proficient understanding of all aspects of the scheduling process.
  • Ability to understand and implement work scopes for every trade category on the project.
  • Strong knowledge and ability to understand and track all the daily operations of his projects.
  • Proficient computer skills necessary to work on the company or owner‑required construction software platform.
  • Strong working knowledge of building codes.
  • Effective problem‑solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to operate under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time‑management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent understanding of industry practices, processes, and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Able to work additional hours to include weekends if needed.
Education and Experience
  • Trade school, technical training, and/or extensive experience in construction required.
  • Five to eight years of related construction experience in a supervisory role.
  • OSHA 30‑hour construction certification.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Competent computer skills to produce accurate and well‑presented reports.
  • LEED, Green Globes, First Aid/CPR, or trade‑specific licenses are a plus.
