Concrete Superintendent
Southland Holdings is accepting resumes for highly motivated professionals to join our team as a Concrete Superintendent in El Paso, TX.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervising all phases of concrete installation, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to schedules.
- Coordinating with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to maintain workflow and resolve issues.
- Understanding basic concrete principles such as concrete mix designs, admixtures, curing, cold and hot weather procedures for concrete placing and finishing, formwork systems, as well as concrete calculations for pours. Monitoring and enforcing compliance with project specifications, drawings, and safety regulations.
- Interpreting and acting off the project schedule and effectively communicating changes as they arise.
- Understanding a budget and controlling field cost in accordance with the budget.
- Effectively teaching and training foreman and crew leaders at lower levels.
- Developing project plan along with Project Manager and driving project milestones.
- Providing day-to-day direction on-site to project resources and ensuring the project teams are provided with the resources and support that enables the teams to reach their goals.
- Ensuring effective management changes occur throughout the course of the project.
Qualifications include:
- Proven leadership in managing large-scale pipeline projects.
- Strong knowledge of concrete installation techniques, equipment, and safety practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of common MS office programs.
- Willingness to work long hours.
