Assistant Project Manager
The Assistant Project Manager is an entry‑level project management position and is expected to learn and develop competency in the Essential Duties and Responsibilities. In addition, the APM is responsible for providing administrative and construction support for our Project Management team.
What You’ll Do- Manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and meeting minutes.
- Oversee project activities as assigned by the Project Manager, including planning, coordinating, resolving problem areas, and ensuring all company/project policies, procedures, and standards are maintained.
- Maintain change orders, submittal, and drawing control logs; prepare required logs and other project documentation for construction meetings.
- Ensure contract submittals are accurate and timely.
- Create and issue subcontractor contracts.
- Assemble and deliver Owner and Maintenance Manuals.
- Ensure the project quality control plan is followed.
- Interact with subcontractors to obtain correct documentation and drawings for Owner and Maintenance Manuals.
- Keep the Warranty Log up to date.
- Attend company/project meetings with clients, subcontractors, etc., and provide project management support.
- Cooperate with and technically assist field personnel assigned to the area of responsibility.
- Monitor other contractors' activities and progress.
- Create Job Information Sheets and establish Job Files.
- Prepare price change orders, project reports, and documentation.
- Work with payroll to ensure accurate payroll information.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned based on the position’s role within the business unit.
- Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods required.
- Tactful with a professional demeanor; able to interact effectively with managers, employees, vendors, and others.
- Strong organizational, record‑keeping, and follow‑up skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellence in organization and time management.
- Ability to identify and meet customers’ expectations and requirements.
- Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office;
Oracle preferred. - Prioritization and ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
- Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
- Professional interaction with all levels of employees, management, vendors, clients, and others.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a construction‑related role (or equivalent combination of training, education, and work experience).
Up to 25%
Working Conditions- General work environment – performed primarily on active construction sites; activities include sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending; conducted mainly indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
- Noise level is typically low to medium.
- Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
