We are seeking an Office Project Engineer to provide technical, documentation, scheduling, and project controls support for heavy civil and perimeter security construction projects. This role works closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, subcontractors, engineers, inspectors, and clients to maintain accurate project records, coordinate documentation, track progress, and support successful project execution from startup through closeout.

What You’ll Do
  • Prepare, review, organize, and maintain project documentation, drawings, specifications, correspondence, and technical records.
  • Prepare, submit, and track Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, transmittals, material approvals, and change documentation.
  • Maintain accurate project logs for RFIs, submittals, drawings, changes, inspections, procurement, and correspondence.
  • Review construction drawings and specifications to identify conflicts, discrepancies, and potential constructability issues.
  • Assist with developing, maintaining, and updating construction schedules using Primavera P6 Professional and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Track project progress against baseline schedules, milestones, and contractual requirements.
  • Assist with look-ahead schedules and identify potential schedule risks, delays, and impacts.
  • Analyze schedule activities, critical path, float, progress, and delays using Primavera P6.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with quantity takeoffs, material tracking, installed quantities, and progress measurements.
  • Support the preparation and review of estimates, change orders, pay applications, and project cost reports.
  • Monitor subcontractor progress, required documentation, and status of assigned work.
  • Coordinate procurement status and material deliveries with project management and field operations.
  • Maintain quality control and quality assurance documentation, inspection records, testing documentation, and related project records.
  • Coordinate project information with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, subcontractors, inspectors, engineers, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain organized and current electronic and physical project files in accordance with company and project requirements.
  • Support project closeout, including as-built drawings, warranties, O&M manuals, punch-list documentation, and final project records.
  • Provide technical and administrative support to the project team throughout all phases of construction.
What You Bring
  • Strong understanding of construction documentation, drawings, specifications, and project controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, schedules, and technical documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of construction scheduling, progress tracking, and project reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and effectively communicate issues to the appropriate project team members.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with project management, field personnel, subcontractors, engineers, inspectors, and clients.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and other project documentation and reporting tools.
  • Dependability, accountability, and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a project team.
  • Ability to periodically visit and safely navigate active construction sites as required.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when on construction sites.
Education | Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in an Office Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Coordinator, Project Controls, or similar construction support role preferred.
  • Experience in heavy civil, infrastructure, or perimeter security construction preferred.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 Professional and/or Microsoft Project strongly preferred.
  • Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, procurement tracking, and construction document control preferred.
  • Experience with construction scheduling, baseline tracking, critical path analysis, progress measurement, and reporting preferred.
  • Experience with quantity takeoffs, cost tracking, and project closeout documentation preferred.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
