Job DescriptionThe Department of Communication at The University of Texas at El Paso invites applications for a Non Tenure-Track (NTT) Assistant Professor of Practice of digital media production with focused teaching in film producing and/or creative production. The successful candidate will develop and teach undergraduate digital media production courses with an emphasis on film production, screenwriting, editing, and a focus on emerging trends in digital media production.
The candidate will help cultivate and shape the interactive component of the digital media production major but can also support theoretical courses; advise and mentor undergraduate students in film production; engage in service at the concentration, department, college, university and professional levels; and will foster collegial and professional connections and collaborations within the department, across the university, at the local and national levels to benefit his/her/their teaching.
Job Requirements- An MFA in communication, media production, or film production, or at least 5 years professional experience in digital media storytelling, video production, filmmaking, and/or editing and production.
- Candidates should be media and/or video production practitioners with a record of recognition in the area of screenwriting and film production.
- Candidate(s) should preferably have some college-level teaching experience, particularly in the fields of communication, media production, screenwriting, and/or film history.
- Background and experience with grant‑writing (for film funding) is desired.
