This position supports agency informational and messaging media productions projects. This position starts at a salary of $89,508.00 (GS-12, Step

The Audiovisual Production Specialist is responsible for program oversight for all facets of media production projects including audio, video, photography, graphic design, and the management and operation of required equipment essential to the position.

Duties and responsibilities include:
Serving as an authoritative technical advisor and resource to Audio Visual Production Specialists in medium sectors. Directing video productions in a large sector to include designing sets and lighting, conceiving visuals, selecting music and sound effects, selecting and directing cameras and movement during taping, editing video tapings, etc. Providing assistance in script preparation, creating electronic graphics to enhance presentation, edit videotapes for roll in and review, evaluate and edit finished programs.

Creating and maintaining existing database of video imagery used for distribution as B-Roll to media outlets. Providing technical assistance and/or training to staff in a large sector in using the audio/visual equipment.

Required Experience:

To qualify for the GS-12 grade level you must possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
Using high quality audio, visual, and photography production equipment; using appropriate software and hardware operating systems in the field of graphic design, audio, video, film, photography and multimedia equipment. Producing, editing, and executing audiovisual productions, editorial judgement, video transcoding, audio adjustment, and color correction for a final desired product. Explaining conceptual ideas using original thought where there is an established time limit for deliberation, consultation, and evaluation to present a well-considered productions.

Leveraging social media tools, trends, and applications to convey important and relevant information to the appropriate audiences. Develop and manage social media content and monitor social media trends, analytics, and audience engagement metrics.
