Salary: $47,828.56 - $70,786.27 annually.
Location:
Various Locations within the City of El Paso, TX.
The Dental Assistant provides clinical and clerical support to dental professionals and oversees administrative and preparatory tasks to maintain a functional dental clinic.
Responsibilities- Assist the dentist and hygienist with patient examinations and procedures.
- Maintain office files, patient records, and insurance eligibility information.
- Prepare patients for procedures and handle radiographic examinations and digital X‑ray processing.
- Clean, sterilize, and assemble instruments; maintain equipment and clinic cleanliness.
- Record vital signs, schedule appointments, and manage dismissal procedures.
- Update dental patient records in the Dentrix database, prepare receipts, collect fees, and post daily sheets.
- Provide daily oral hygiene education, hygiene packets, and front‑desk coverage.
- Complete weekly equipment maintenance logs (eyewash stations, oxygen tanks, lead aprons, handpieces, emergency kits, inventories) and file biological and quality assurance logs.
- Facilitate monthly water tests and other regulatory compliance activities.
- Serve as Designated Radiology Security Officer (RSO) and represent the clinic at compliance meetings.
- Respond to telephone calls, schedule appointments, and convey information professionally.
- Support budget, accounts, purchasing, and supply inventory management.
- Arrange equipment repairs and place orders for supplies.
- Supervise assigned staff: schedule, train, evaluate performance, advise on hiring and disciplinary actions, enforce procedural rules.
- High School Diploma, GED, or higher.
- Completion of an accredited dental‑assistant program.
- At least six (6) years of experience in a dental office or clinic, including a minimum of two (2) years in a pediatric or public‑health setting.
- Valid Texas Class “C” driver’s license or equivalent by date of appointment.
- Certification as a Dental Assistant (accredited course).
- Certification in Dental X‑ray proficiency and in Coronal Polishing and Sealant application per Texas Department of Health by date of appointment.
- Proficiency in using Dentrix and other dental office software.
- MOS Codes: 002669 (Navy), 31-9091.00 (Army), 4Y0X1 (Air Force).
- Documentation of foreign diplomas or transcripts must be evaluated by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) before application.
