Major/Essential Functions

* Provides inpatient and outpatient adult neurology clinical services, including serving as a stroke consultant in assigned neurology outpatient clinic and providing consultation services at affiliated hospitals.

* Conducts neuro-interventional procedures and provides neuro-critical care and stroke services.

* Supervises resident clinics and participates in the overall teaching program for teaching and training of residents and medical students, to include the presentation of lectures.

* Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship.

* Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance such as committee work, neurology professional organizations, and other administrative duties.

* Contributes to the community through academically related public service complementary to the institutional mission.

* Participates in chart audits and other clinical performance improvement efforts.

* Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations.

* Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures.

* Assists the Department Chair with the implementation of departmental policies and monitoring staffing effectiveness.

* Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility.

* Upholds and promotes the values-based culture of TTUHSC El Paso

Required Qualifications

* M.D. or D.O. degree

* Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Neurology Residency Program

* Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship program in Vascular Neurology or Neurocritical Care

* Successful completion of ACGME- or Committee on Advanced Subspecialty Training (CAST)-accredited fellowship program in Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology, Neuroendovascular Intervention, or Interventional Neuroradiology

* Texas Medical License, or eligible for medical licensure in Texas

* Board certification in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
