Major/Essential Functions

* Provides leadership of the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology

* Provides patient care in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology to newborns, children, and adolescents in both inpatient and outpatient settings

* Participates in the education of medical students and residents

* Supervises advanced practice professionals in the clinical setting

* Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship

* Serves the academic community through participations in institutional governance such as committee work and other administrative duties

* Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission

* Adheres to institutional and departmental polices and procedures

* Ensures compliance with HIPPAA and billing regulations

* Demonstrate Professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility

Preferred Qualifications

* Bilingual (English and Spanish preferred)

* Experience in teaching students and residents in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology

* Experience with participation in clinical trials with the Children's Oncology Group (COG)

* Emerging regional or national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher

* Board Certified in General Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics

Required Qualifications

* M.D. or D.O. degree, or foreign medical degree equivalent

* Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency Program

* Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Hematology/Oncology fellowship program

* Must have a Texas medical license or eligible for medical licensure in Texas

* Board Certified in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology by the American Board of Pediatrics
