Part-Time K-12 Music Teacher

LOCATION:

DaVinci Academy for Science and the Arts - San Antonio

1620 Pinn Rd San Antonio, TX

WORK SCHEDULE:

195 Days Per Year __ 4-6 hours per day

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Teach daily music classes.

2. Capable of teaching multiple instrument lessons __ I.e. violin, guitar, piano, flute, etc.

3. Participate in curriculum review and design.

4. Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives.

5. Plan and execute 2-3 showcase events/performance concerts per year.

6. Diagnose and evaluates student abilities and progress in a timely and consistent manner.

7. Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.

8. Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.

9. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.

10. Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.

11. Effectively implement district initiatives.

12. Effectively collaborate with department and grade level teachers.

OTHER

JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.

2. Attend meetings and performs duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.

3. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

4. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.

5. Serve on committees as assigned.

6. Remain current on instructional practices in education. (e.g. instructional technology)
