Major/Essential Functions

* Provides direct patient care by evaluating, diagnosing, and treating the full spectrum of mental health conditions using a variety of psychotherapeutic treatment modalities within a multidisciplinary setting

* Provides consultation to faculty and learners concerning clinical assessment findings and appropriate treatment plans for patients

* Provides crisis-intervention support, as needed

* Assumes professional responsibility for their clinical assessment findings, patient care decisions, and clinical documentation

* Teaches and supervises psychology interns, psychology post-doctoral trainees, residents, fellows, and medical students in both clinical and classroom settings

* Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship

* Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work

* Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complimentary to the institutional mission

* Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations

* Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures

* Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility

* Upholds and promotes the values-based culture of TTUHSC El Paso

Required Qualifications

* Ph.D. or Psy.

D. degree in psychology from a college or university that is accredited by the American Psychological Association

* Successful completion of an internship in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association

* Licensed or eligible for licensure as a psychologist by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists
