Primary Purpose
Provide psychological services and expertise to students receiving special education services within the district.

Qualifications
Education/Certification

Master’s degree in Psychology, Educational Psychology, or School Psychology

Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) credential from the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists

Valid driver’s license

Special Knowledge/Skills

Ability to collaborate effectively with administrators, teachers, students, and parents

Knowledge of autism evaluation procedures (preferred)

Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)

Experience

Minimum of two years of educational experience

Major Responsibilities and Duties

Conduct comprehensive psychological and educational evaluations, including assessments for Autism and Emotional Disturbance, in accordance with federal and state guidelines.

Interpret evaluation results and communicate findings to school personnel, parents, and other professionals in compliance with confidentiality requirements.

Assist the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee in developing and reviewing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Develop recommendations for Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and consult with staff to support implementation.

Provide individual or group counseling services and/or parent consultation as determined by ARD/IEP recommendations.

Serve as a resource to staff and administrators regarding disabilities, behavioral supports, and student needs.

Conduct and participate in professional development and in-service training.

Attend required staff and committee meetings.

Maintain current knowledge of best practices in assessment, counseling, and intervention for children and adolescents.

Stay informed on current federal and state laws related to special education assessment, placement, and services.

Adhere to TEA guidelines and professional ethical standards for school psychologists.

Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with federal, state, and district requirements.

Collaborate with community agencies, healthcare providers, and social services when appropriate.

Serve as a liaison between the school and external agencies or juvenile court when required.

Monitor and maintain assessment materials and supplies.

Follow district safety procedures and policies.

Support district goals and comply with all policies and expectations.

Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Demonstrate independent judgment, ethical practice, and professional conduct.

Perform other duties as assigned by the appropriate supervisor.

Provide responsive and professional service to students, staff, families, and community stakeholders.
