The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Instruction for our CACREP accredited Counseling Programs beginning in Summer/Fall 2026 that is housed in the Department of Counseling and Special Education in the College of Education. The successful candidates will be committed to excellence in teaching, service, and community engagement as well as collaboration across the university.
Teaching assignments will be based on candidates' experience and expertise. The successful candidates will assume a range of responsibilities including the following: (1) teaching graduate level courses, including in-person, hybrid, and online courses; (2) participating in broad-based university, college, and departmental committee work, as well as professional and community service; (3) collaboration with colleagues, (4) advising students; and (5) supervising students' field experiences.
Teaching in summer is generally available.
Requirements:
The initial salary is competitive, based on qualifications and experience, and comes with excellent fringe benefits. Hiring decisions are based on budget approval.
