Provide support to programs and/or services that supplement the regular education program, curriculum and district initiatives so that students graduate college, career and/or military ready and have the opportunity to participate in other college readiness measures. Coordinate and provide support in professional learning communities to align content, the backwards design process and curriculum resources. Serve as an on‑site instructional coach for the teaching staff to train and provide supplemental support to the regular education programs.
Attend district instructional program trainings and implement the instructional programs at the campus level. Serve as a lead teacher training, planning, implementing and assessing supplemental educational programs relevant to the needs of all students particularly in the areas of Math/Science and/or Reading and Language Arts/Social Studies. Adhere to federal and state laws, as well as district policies, procedures and regulations.
Functions
- Provides instructional support to all students, including Emergent Bilinguals, students at risk of dropping out, and those who did not perform satisfactorily on assessments such as Diagnostic Assessments, STAAR, state and district assessments, and checkpoints.
- Serves as an on‑site instructional coach for the teaching staff and works with teachers in professional learning communities. Serves as a role model and demonstrates instructional strategies to improve student performance in Math/Science and/or Reading and Language Arts/Social Studies.
- Assists with the collection, analysis and evaluation of student performance data; ensures appropriate student placement in supplemental programs such as RTI, Section 504, Gifted and Talented (GT), and enrichment.
- Serves as the trainer and liaison to the campus for district professional development workshops. Coordinates and provides staff development training for district initiatives and supplemental programs at faculty meetings and designated professional development days related to Math/Science and/or Reading and Language Arts/Social Studies.
- Collaborates with teachers and the administrative team to develop and evaluate supplemental instructional programs. Performs classroom support visits and periodically reviews Math/Science and/or Reading and Language Arts/Social Studies, Advanced, and College and Career Readiness programs for student success.
- Ensures that an auditable schedule of daily duties is maintained at all times. Maintains a detailed record/schedule of duties, days and times for extra duty.
- Works individually with teachers on specific instructional strategies to provide differentiated instruction. Provides follow‑up after instructional training. Leverages technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process for at‑risk students.
- Provides ongoing differentiated support and monitors the use of campus and district resources.
- Collaborates with campus administrators to plan and coordinate instructional initiatives such as orientation, instructional nights, instructional fairs, instructional awards programs, tutoring, STAAR interventions, College and Career Readiness (CCR), intersession and summer school.
- Prepares and maintains complete and accurate records as required by administrative regulations, district policies, and state and federal agencies. Assists the campus administration in compiling any pertinent administrative reports.

- Maintain a professional code of ethics; present a professional image in grooming and attire, and serve as a role model for all students.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
