Responsibilities
- Provide instruction in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the College.
- Perform in‑person teaching on campus; in‑person work is essential.
- Adhere to and submit the approved course syllabus by the first week of class.
- Provide students with a syllabus that informs them of course requirements, specific objectives, methods of attainment and evaluation.
- Use teaching methods appropriate for students of varying educational backgrounds and learning styles.
- Allow students to continually assess their own progress and provide a reasonable opportunity for mastery of course objectives.
- Submit syllabi/addendums to the Division Office and maintain office hours per institutional guidelines.
- Arrange for student evaluation of instruction and submit evaluations to the designated office.
- Participate in faculty orientation sessions, professional development seminars, and activities to enhance professional awareness and growth.
- Support the community college’s mission to serve the community.
- Perform all other duties appropriate to this position as assigned or directed.
- Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts and at least three (3) years of work experience exclusive of teaching.
- Full transcript reflecting completed coursework and conferred degrees submitted for consideration.
- Experience teaching in the discipline.
- Experience and ability to incorporate technology into the classroom.
- Experience and ability to teach at the community college level.
- Positions are part‑time, hired semester‑by‑semester based on district needs.
- Faculty may teach day, evening, or weekend classes at various times and locations during the academic year.
- This is a security‑sensitive position; a criminal background check is required.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and submit required documentation before employment.
