Responsibilities
  • Under general supervision, plan, develop, promote, organize, and evaluate a range of community, art, and cultural initiatives, programs, and events for the Mexican-American Cultural Center (MACC).
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement arts and cultural programs, special projects, and events, including field research, liaison with community groups, educational organizations, agencies, satellite programs, events, and exhibitions.
  • Build and strengthen community partnerships, brand recognition, and support for MACC programs and activities.
  • Co‑ordinate marketing initiatives such as conceptual design of promotional material, themes, campaigns, public relations activities, newsletters, press releases, speeches, and social media publications to promote cultural programs and events.
  • Attend community events, meetings, conferences, and represent the MACC; make presentations and conduct community outreach.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned, including arranging administrative details, procuring supplies, maintaining activity records, preparing event reports, and monitoring expenditures.
  • Supervise assigned staff: schedule, instruct, evaluate, provide training, enforce personnel rules and standards, counsel, motivate, and manage hiring and personnel changes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Chicano, Hispanic, Latin American, Border, Latino studies;
    Museum Studies;
    Arts Administration;
    Art Education;
    Art History;
    Education;
    History;
    Business;
    Public Administration; or a related field.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in a museum, nonprofit arts or cultural organization, school, or educational institution.
  • Texas Class C Driver’s License or equivalent from another state.
  • For foreign degree holders: all documents must be translated and evaluated by an agency of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
