Premier High School supports credit recovery and early graduation for students who thrive in smaller, independent learning environments that prioritize technology and one‑on‑one interaction. Texas Works enables adults to earn a high school diploma through personalized support and flexible options. In this dual role, teachers deliver personalized instruction, use technology, and build strong relationships with Premier High School and Texas Works students.
What You’ll Bring to the Classroom- Support and challenge students in a nurturing environment that drives growth and engagement.
- Model ethical behavior and sound judgment.
- Interpret policy, procedures, and student data (e.g., test results, GPA, career interest surveys).
- Participate in extracurricular activities (Premier High School).
- Excellent organizational, self‑management, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with diverse learners, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Master the Premier High School Curriculum System and adapt instruction to meet the needs of adult learners in Texas Works.
- Manage the classroom: set clear expectations, establish routines, promote self‑discipline while demonstrating empathy.
- Inspire, praise, and correct students with consistency, care, and interest.
- Implement teaching curriculum programs.
- Evaluate student progress and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Collaborate with colleagues at the local and district levels for student benefit.
- Administer tests, monitor student performance, and provide intervention/enrichment.
- Tutor students individually or in groups.
- Perform assigned duties and special projects.
- Practice professionalism through ongoing development and reflection.
- Adhere to all relevant handbooks and procedures.
- Texas State Teacher’s Certification in the subject to be taught.
- Bachelor’s degree with a passing score on an ExCET/TEXES exam in the relevant grade level or content area.
- Bachelor’s degree with an appropriate minor or major (minimum 18 credit hours) in the core academic subject areas.
- Documented, relevant work experience in the content area (at least one year), supported by a professional letter of recommendation.
