Who We Are

This is a on‑site position working out of Riesel, TX.

Position Overview

The Lead Technician will work on renewable energy projects including solar PV and energy storage power plants. Responsibilities include maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting AC and DC circuits ranging from 345 kV and below to 12 VDC, preventing and predicting equipment failures for motors, switch gear, transformers, inverters, panels, BESS systems, generators, HVAC, security and battery support systems. The role directly supervises up to 10 O&M technicians and supports the Site Manager with scheduling, work procedures, training, and daily technical guidance.

Responsibilities
  • Adherence to the company’s values and behaviors as defined by the EGPNA policies and handbooks.
  • Provide leadership to a team of up to 10 technicians, focusing on reliability‑based philosophies, prioritized work schedules, mentoring, coaching, and performance evaluation.
  • Execute daily scheduling using a prioritized list of work from Planning, emphasizing safety and maximizing availability while ensuring proactive work is completed.
  • Install, test, maintain, and troubleshoot minor components and assist with major components.
  • Perform current and voltage calculations as necessary.
  • Complete reports and records associated with maintenance and repairs.
  • Complete Lock‑Out‑Tag‑Out (LOTO), JSA’s, Permit to Work and job‑specific documentation required for safe maintenance and repairs.
  • Proactively seek improvement opportunities for job‑appropriate processes and procedures.
  • Perform data collection and prepare reports to meet reporting requirements.
  • Perform balance‑of‑plant and switchyard work as required.
  • Facilitate training requirements such as task‑based certifications, safety training, and compliance training.
  • Effectively gather plant performance or issue information, diagnose, recommend, and implement solutions up to intermediate routine issues.
  • Act as a safety role model, recognize safe acts, and intervene when unsafe acts occur.
  • Perform a variety of administrative duties satisfying internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Identify gaps in safety standards and risks in the environment.
  • Implement effective risk mitigation and provide recommendations to higher‑level technical staff and management.
  • Demonstrate and promote integrity, strong initiative, and a no‑compromise focus on safety and quality of work consistently.
  • Read schematics to troubleshoot complicated mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems, control systems, and components.
  • Review completed service checklists for accuracy and maintain a punch list for future work.
  • Perform data collection and prepare reports to meet reporting requirements.
Who You Are
  • Support regional maintenance activities, as needed.
  • Assist with QA/QC activities.
  • Work in conjunction with Technical Support for proactive repairs.
  • Comply with all HSEQ policies and procedures (ISO
    9001/ISO
    14001/ISO
    18001).
  • Ensure all materials used in maintenance are removed from SAP inventory.
  • At times assist with BOP activities.
  • Participate in on‑the‑job training and other off‑site training.
  • Complete all required training satisfactorily and on time.
What You’ve Accomplished
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the renewable energy sector, or
  • 3+ years of related experience with an Associate’s Degree or Technical School Certification (or a B.S. Degree with 6 months of applicable experience).
  • Supervisory experience of field staff as a lead or foreman, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to use electrical test equipment such as DMM, meggers, and multimeter calibration equipment.
  • IR Certificate Level 1.
  • Ultrasound qualifications a plus.
  • Strong knowledge in electrical theory and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Electrical license or related certification preferred (may be required in some states).
  • Comparing, copying, calculating, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Clean driving record: in the last 3 years, no driving‑related suspensions, revocations, cancellations, or more than 2 moving violations.
