Safety Specialist

The Safety Specialist is responsible in offering knowledge and skills in order to generate and ensure a safe working environment for employees of our client companies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Employee/Client Relations
- Client assistance in regards to compliance with state and federal laws, client company policies and T&T Staff Management policies
- Employee/Client Incident Investigations
- Perform routine safety training sessions/meetings with client company
- Perform regular jobsite inspections of all client companies in order to identity any unsafe work practices/conditions
- Document findings and forward findings to management
- Ensure all activity is entered in client database weekly
- Enforcement of all safety rules/procedures at all times
- Works with management and other departments to apply adequate disciplinary procedures for those who violate safety rules
- Develop and implement actions to minimize occupational injury/illnesses
- Advising on a range of specialty areas, (e.g. hazardous substances, noise protection, safeguarding machinery, and occupational injury/illness)
- Responsible in keeping abreast of emerging worksite area safety issues
- Advises management of potentially hazardous conditions
- Thoroughly inspects machinery, equipment, worksite, and working conditions in industrial, construction or other setting to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations
- Inspects machines and equipment for accident prevention devices.
- Observes workers to determine use of personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, helmets, goggles, respirators, and clothing.
- Inspects specified areas for fire-prevention equipment and other safety and first-aid supplies.
- Inspect worksite areas for potential hazards: falls, struck by, slips, falls, electrical, etc. Prepares report of findings with recommendations for corrective action.
- Investigates accidents to ascertain causes for use in recommending preventive safety measures and developing safety program.
- Demonstrates proper use of safety equipment.
- Company Vehicle Policy:
- Operate company-owned vehicles safely and professionally at all times
- Maintain the company vehicle as if it were your own personal auto
- Understands that personal use of company vehicle is prohibited
- Driving conduct is to be courteous and professional at all times
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

Qualification/Requirement:
- Knowledge of Safety and Client Services
- Familiarity with OSHA Standards
- OSHA 10/30 hour training
- Computer Proficient
- Bilingual English/Spanish
Education/Training/
Experience:
- The successful candidate should have a high school diploma or a GED
