What You Will Do
  • Provide an advanced level of full‑lifecycle project management for natural gas construction projects.
  • Understand project requirements and scoping, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, schedule design and construction, manage construction activities, and analyze finances.
  • Oversee all aspects of natural gas construction projects from initiation through closure to ensure on‑time delivery of service, monitoring and communicating deadlines, scope, budget, and costs.
  • Develop scope, schedule, and milestones for projects.
  • Ensure project meets milestones and scope of work, including procurement of materials, traffic control, permits, easements, right‑of‑way needs, environmental controls, and safety plans.
  • Identify risks and roadblocks during planning, implementation, and closing, perform contingency planning, and develop alternatives to address risk mitigation, budget impacts, and schedule changes.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve design and construction project management policies and procedures.
  • Lead the project development process, review construction plans, perform economic evaluations, draft contract documents, and negotiate gas installation agreements with developers as applicable.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to review and discuss designs and design changes; provide solutions to construction issues and challenges.
  • Coordinate timely communication with stakeholders, including developers, engineers, site superintendents, city permitting consultants, operations, resource management, right‑of‑way, and legal.
  • Monitor and track progress of projects and provide status updates to stakeholders.
  • Provide information and assistance to stakeholders involved in the projects.
  • Participate in civic, community, and professional organizations to promote the use of natural gas by providing leadership, information, and resources.
  • Act as a resource for other team members, lead projects with complex risks and resource requirements.
  • Employees may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
What You Will Need
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering technology, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience.
  • Experience with gas distribution system infrastructure design and materials, construction methods, and project durations.
  • Experience with engineering construction plans, mechanical drawings, equipment specifications, and rate schedules.
  • Experience with scheduling principles and practices.
  • Experience with budget and contract policies, principles, and procedures; understanding of key financial indicators and ability to make appropriate decisions.
  • Experience with adapting, interpreting, and applying guidelines and standards.
  • Experience with establishing and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge or training related to gas‑fired equipment design and operation, line extension program, job order prep, and pressure request procedures.
  • Experience using project‑management software and office equipment, including computers and applicable software.
  • Experience researching and composing reports, studies, cost analyses, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Experience interacting, advising, and communicating effectively.
  • Application of math, algebra, and statistics.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
  • Minimum applicable driver’s license for travel to meet customers and attend civic and community functions.
