EHS Technician

Eaton's ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a EHS Technician at our El Paso facility located at 7800 Trade Center Avenue. The rate for this position is $28.00 per hour. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, qualifications, and market and business considerations.

• Drive and promote zero incident EHS culture throughout site by championing projects designed to effectively drive improvements in our "Zero Incident Safety Culture" program(s).
• Assist with the implementation of MESH (Management System of Environmental, Safety, Security and Health and utilize the MESH tools to drive improvements.
• Support the function in EHS data analysis, data management, reporting and training while providing technical expertise to the organization.
• Support tracking of appropriate leading and lagging indicators to track EHS performance.
• Support EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year.
• Assist champion for the MESH MOC process, this will include mentoring employees who perform a variety of engineering work in designing, installing, operating, and maintaining measuring apparatus necessary to determine the level of pollutants involving air, land and water.
• Evaluate jobs for possible ergonomic improvements and implement these work design changes.
• Investigate all accidents and near misses, identifies root causes, and ensures corrective actions are implemented. Will be the lead person for 8D on all recordable accidents.
• Coordinate assigned Occupational Safety and Health and other training programs
• Compile and analyze MESH data for capturing in Eaton's Safety database to include corrective action tracking and MESH scoring as assigned
• Assist coordination to ZWaD certification and water reduction programs with cross functional teams.
• Emergency Response:
  Participate in emergency response planning/drills and provide first aid as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual:
  Spanish and English

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
• 1 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

• Exemplify Eaton's leadership attributes.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including use of tact, judgment, and influencing.
• Proven ability in counseling/advising in various EHS needs.
• Must be able to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other team members and departments.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
• Ability to lift, up to 20 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions.
